Are the lines parallel?
Although at first glance it may seem like the long lines are inclined, the reality is that they are parallel lines. You can verify this with a straight object.
This is an optical illusion discovered by the German astrophysicist Johann Karl Friedrich Zöllner in 1860.
In the Zöllner illusion, a series of parallel lines intersect with short lines. The arrangement of these short lines, alternating between horizontal and vertical, causes our brain to be confused and mistakenly perceive that the long lines are not parallel.
